Dubai is a multicultural city that has a wide range of activities and leisurely options that allow people to make some precious memories. And if you are someone who is visiting UAE through a 60-day or 30-day visit visa, this recent development is something you will want to know. Well, we are talking about a recent decision by the General Directorate of Residential & Foreign Affairs and the Federal Authorities For Identity & Citizenship. Hint: it’s related to the extension of stay by another 30 days in the emirate.

30-Day Or 60-Day Visit Visa Extension By 30 Days?

As mentioned above, the recent decision by the GDRFA and ICA now allows tourists visiting the country on a 30-day and 60-day visit visa to extend their stay by another 30 days. According to a news report by the Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that those who hold a visit visa of 30 days or 60 days are eligible for an additional 30 days’ stay. However, it must be noted that the maximum extension period for the visit visa holder is 120 days, the report also mentioned that a call centre representative of Amer Centre agreed with the visit visa extension within the country and advised people to contact their issuing agent for an extension.

What About The Process?

It’s worth noting that this extension applies to both long-term and short-visit visas. However, the total duration of the stay within a year must not exceed 120 days. If you wish to extend your stay in the emirate, you must contact your sponsor or travel agent, who issued the visa as they will be able to provide you with information about the extension process, fees, required documents, and any other details. It must be noted that the visitors’ passport is required for an extension of their visit visa.

However, the issuing agent will provide more detailed information about all the required documents. Although the process may take a few days, including submission of the documents, depending on the travel agent with whom you are submitting the documents, the ICP website does say that it takes 48 hours to complete the service after the requirements of fulfilling. Talking about the extension fees for a month, it is priced at AED1050. However, it must be noted that the total amount of the visa will depend on the circumstances that surround the person getting their visa extended.

So, make sure to contact your sponsor or issuing agent if you wish to extend your stay.
