It’s good news for tourists as Himachal launches electric buses for travel between Manali to Rohtang Pass. The Himachal Roads Transport Corporation (HRTC) will be operational from Manali-Rohtang-Atal tunnel-Manali route. As of now, there will be three buses which will be functional until there is a further increase in the demand. Tourists can book these buses for ₹600 for a two-way journey from the Manali bus stand. There will also be no additional requirement to book the bus seats online.
Not The Monotonous Bus Journey
The electric buses will start from the Manali stand and will pass through the routes Kothi, Gulaba and Marhi. The bus will wait for the tourists to enjoy the snow and stunning views. The road is known for its unparalleled beauty, and it remains one of the most attractive regions on a traveller’s itinerary. The bus will then move to Koksar in Lahaul valley and return to Manali through the ATAL Tunnel.
The Atal Tunnel, Built By BRO (Border Roads Organization)
Inaugurated in 2020, the Atal Tunnel is another significant place connecting the connecting Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions and remains is the world’s longest highway tunnel. The 9.02 km-long-tunnel has also primarily reduced the distance between between Manali and Leh by at least 46 km.
The Rohtang Pass is around 50 km from Manali, and as you pass through the terrain, you’ll come across dramatic views of the snow-clad mountains and clear blue skies.
