Travelling By Metro During NY Weekend? Here’s Why You Should Keep At Least AED 15 Balance In Your nol Card

In the bustling city of Dubai, the nol card stands as a smart and versatile companion for seamless travel on various modes of transportation offered by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). From Dubai Metro and Buses to Dubai Tram and Water Buses, the nol card simplifies the payment process with a single tap. Additionally, it extends its utility to cover RTA’s Paid Parking, making it an indispensable tool for both frequent travellers and visitors alike.

Types Of nol Cards: Tailored To Your Needs

To cater to diverse needs, nol cards are available in four different types, offering flexibility and convenience to users. Whether you’re a daily commuter or exploring the city as a visitor, there’s a nol card designed to meet your specific requirements.

New Year’s Weekend Travel With Dubai Metro’s Extended Hours

As the New Year’s weekend approaches, planning travel in Dubai becomes even more convenient with the extended operational hours of the Dubai Metro. Running for an impressive 40 hours straight over the long weekend, the Metro offers a hassle-free alternative to navigating the city’s traffic.

Ensuring a Smooth Transit Experience In Dubai During NYE

To ensure a smooth transit experience, the RTA emphasizes the importance of maintaining a minimum balance of Dhs15 on your nol card. This amount is essential for a round trip on the transit network, allowing passengers to navigate the city effortlessly.

Checking Your nol Card Balance

Checking your nol card balance is a straightforward process and can be done through various channels:

  1. Visit the RTA website
  2. Download the Shail App
  3. Download RTA Dubai App
  4. Download nolPay App
  5. Offline via visiting the metro station’s ticketing office

Metro Timings and Closures: Important Updates For The Long Weekend

Beyond transportation, the nol card serves as a versatile tool for payments, allowing users to pay for groceries and taxi fares, and even avail of free parking at selected Metro car parks. While enjoying the extended Metro hours over the long weekend, it’s crucial to note that the Burj Khalifa Dubai Metro station will close at 5 pm on Sunday, December 31. The revised Metro timings during the long weekend will be from 8 am on Sunday, December 31, until 11.59 pm on Monday, January 1. As for the Dubai Tram, it will operate from 9 am on Sunday, December 31, to 1 am on Tuesday, January 2.
