Just a day before the incident, the first officer, around 40 years old, operated an Air India flight from Delhi to Bali. According to India Today, after completing the journey, he was resting and staying at a hotel in Bali. During this rest period, he suddenly complained of severe discomfort at the hotel.
He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Doctors there diagnosed him with a heart attack. Despite immediate treatment and all efforts made by the medical team, he could not survive.

The Airline Confirmed The Incident
Air India confirmed the incidents and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of its crew member. The airline mentioned that the pilot was on scheduled crew rest when he developed health complications. Airline also stated that they are in contact with the pilot’s family. They are providing all possible support during this difficult time.
India Today reported that according to an airline official, just a few months earlier, the pilot had completed all compulsory medical examinations required under regulatory guidelines. These health checks are part of standard aviation safety procedures followed for the flying crew.
The official also mentioned that there was no known pre-existing medical condition in this case. He added that the pilot had been operating flights within the allowed flying-hour limits set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
