For the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, we headed to Tulsi Kumar’s luxurious home in Delhi. While relishing mouth-watering Delhi-special grub, we asked her more about her latest single. The singing sensation gave us an insight into how differently things pan out when a singer works as a playback in a movie as compared to when they release their own songs.
Tulsi Kumar Loves Recording Singles
Tulsi Kumar recently released a fab song ‘Dil Kuch Hor Ni Mangda’ and it has been trending all over the internet! So, when we sat down with her during a recent episode of Sunday Brunch, we asked her more about her latest hit. Tulsi revealed, “In independent songs, we get the opportunity to be totally involved as artists.” And she made the most of this opportunity in her recent hit.
She goes on to explain that while recording playback for a movie, singers simply go on to record a song and that’s it. In comparison, for ‘Dil Kuch Hor Ni Mangda’, she was involved from the very beginning. Right from when the music was made to video planning, Tulsi was involved in every step of the song’s journey.
“I absolutely love the whole fact of curating the whole project together. For Dil Kuch Hor Ni Mangda, I was very excited because it’s a very different song and we wanted to dance as well,” she explained. She also talked about how she rehearsed for 10 days to shoot for the music video as well.
Playback Singing V/s Independent Projects
We asked her whether she enjoys playback singing more or recording singles, and Tulsi Kumar revealed she likes them equally. She mentioned that she started her career as a playback singer and now, she is doing a lot of independent projects. She does, however, feel that she gets creative satisfaction while working on singles.
So, which is Tulsi Kumar’s favourite song of herself? After giving it a little thought, the singer revealed that it would have to be ‘Tum Jo Aaye’ from the movie ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’. She feels the kind of love and popularity that song got was simply amazing.
