The UAE Cabinet has now approved a new policy for expats sponsoring family members. The amendment reaffirms the UAE’s position as a major hub for talents.

What’s It?

The UAE cabinet has brought in a new policy for expats sponsoring their families. Earlier, the ‘profession’ permitted expats to sponsor their families in the UAE. However, the new policy indicates income as a mandatory requirement for sponsoring family members.

The new rule is done in order to strike a healthy balance between personal and professional life. Further, the new policy will also help bring in skilled professionals into the region. The decision has also called other government entities including health, and education to assess and enhance the services provided to the residents.

The cabinet also added that the decision reaffirms UAE’s position as a hub for talents and the land of opportunities.

What Else?

Plus, the UAE  government has also announced a new five-year visa plan that will allow expats to retire in the country. People who are over 55 years of age and are employed in the UAE are eligible to apply for the permit. The visa also requires them to either own a property worth AED 2 million, have a bank balance of AED 1 million and a monthly income of AED 20,000 per month.
