UAE Gets World’s First Hydrogen-Powered Boat That Will Fly Across Dubai

Dubai is a Shangri-la for technological advancements. It has been always the primary destination to find the best tech. The Emirates proves its stance again as it launches a world-first hydrogen-powered boat. Termed as The Jet, is a clean energy hydro-powered flying boat. Dubai’s leadership position as a worldwide centre for future industries is evident.
THE JET ZeroEmission, a Swiss company, has announced that it has struck a deal to build and operate The Jet with Zenith Marine Services and DWYN in the UAE.

What Does The Jet Comprise Of?

The flying boat is set to aviate over the pristine water at 40mph speed. It can incorporate 8-12 people at once. The boat seems sustainable as it has 2 fuel cells, an air conditioner along other emission minimizing features. It would have zero noise creation. The takeoff date has not been announced. But it’s assumed to be during the next COP28 UAE preparatory sessions in November 2023.

Renewable Energy Is High Priority For UAE

The prime goal for UAE regarding this or other such projects is to endure more renewable energy. Emirates claim to revive 75% of its energy needs from renewable sources. They declared it under the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.

Dubai is also aiming to become a worldwide hub for renewable energy and a green economy. Infrastructure, regulation, finance, growing capabilities and skills, and an environmentally suitable energy mix are the five ground elements of this strategy.

Hydrogen Fuel The Future Of Transport?

With climate change growing more intense switching to something sustainable is the need of the hour. Hydrogen Fuel is the saviour and also the future prospect of sustainable travelling. Firstly the debate over utilising hydrogen as a fuel source has been pondered.

Is It Feasible To Build A Hydrogen-Powered Boat, Yacht, or Plane?

Hydrogen-powered Yacht might be the upcoming project after the boat. Also, it’s a surprise to where and when the launch would take place. The superyacht might hold a peak pace of 17 knots and a range of 3,750 nautical miles, with state-of-the-art amenities.
