As revealed in a report by the Khaleej Times, now only UAE citizens can speak in the Emirati dialect on media channels. This policy comes into effect after recording several violations committed by entities. It has been done to reduce the distortion of dialect and cultural symbols by certain representations. As it happens, it’s no secret that Emiratis speak Arabic with a distinct dialect, which is only native to the UAE. However, there are signs of distortions of such symbols in a superficial manner. And the move has been made in order to preserve the identity, heritage, and language!

This action has been taken since there is use of incorrect Emirati vocabulary and acknowledging past violations.nobody can speak about any project in the Emirati dialect unless they are wearing the national attire and a citizen. This is to ensure the correct identity is conveyed to the community. Since the new media is centred around content creation, this comes as an important step in ensuring that the unofficial news entities in the UAE portray the country’s image properly. And if they fail to do so, strict action will be taken against them.
