If there’s one thing that excites an adventure-seeker like Kamiya Jani, it’s discovering unconventional destinations, and Bodoland, India’s Offbeat Land, was the perfect choice. Her journey involved her riding through thick jungles, undulating hills, and vibrant Bodo villages, where she could experience the sparseness and beauty of rural life.

Among the list of her top activities during her visit was to the Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being rich in varied and widespread wildlife, including the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, and golden langur. Among the places she went to was the peaceful Manas River, where she had exciting river rafting experiences in the pristine surroundings.

Kamiya also experimented with local cuisine like Oma Bedor (bamboo shoot pork) and Narzi, a distinctive rice dish that has medicinal value. Her travel account documented Bodoland as a destination that balances its conservation of heritage with eco-tourism.
