To preserve the traditional crafts and generate employment for thousands of artisans, Uttar Pradesh is launching a handicrafts park on the route connecting Delhi and Taj Mahal. The park will house shops selling regional handicrafts like Banarasi sarees, Moradabadi brass works, Lucknow’s chikankari, perfumes of Kannauj and more. Traditional workshops will also take place in the park. This initiative will help the state in boosting its handicrafts sector. Read on to know more.

The Park Will Generate Employment To Around 22,144 People
The handicrafts park will come up in Sector 29 of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Industrialists have acquired land on the park to set up factories that will provide employment to around 22,144 people. This will be the first-ever handicrafts park in Uttar Pradesh. It will increase the popularity of the local crafts of the state among visitors from all over India and the world. Export to other countries will also be facilitated from the factories.

The Park Will Showcase Art Forms Of Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut And More
It is said that every district of Uttar Pradesh has a special art form. The park will enable visitors to access the stunning artworks of these districts. At the park, visitors will get the opportunity to hoard traditional handicrafts and curios from Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Meerut, Jhansi, Mirzapur and more. The location of the park will also be in proximity to the upcoming Jewar International Airport. Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath government has launched certain schemes like One District One Product ( ODOP) and Vishwakarma Shram Samman to promote local artisans.
