Vaccinated UAE Residents Can Travel To Phuket From 2 July; No Quarantine On Arrival

UAE residents now have one more destination to travel to this summer! Emirates has announced it will resume services to Phuket from 2 July. So, if you’re up for some sun, sand and beach, here’s where you need to head. The airline will service four weekly flights to Phuket. Vaccinated Residents Need Not Quarantine Upon Arrival In Phuket

Vaccinated UAE residents can enjoy a hassle-free travel, with no quarantine on arrival. With measures in place to ensure a safe reboot of Phuket’s tourism industry, customers travelling to the destination will enjoy quarantine-free travel to one of the world’s most-loved holiday spots.

The Dubai-Phuket route will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration, offering premium services in First, Business and Economy Class. Emirates flight EK378 will depart Dubai on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 03:00hrs, arriving at Phuket International Airport at 12:30hrs the same day. The return flight, EK379, will depart Phuket at 00:10 hrs, on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, arriving in Dubai at 03:05hrs the same day (all times are local).

The four weekly services will provide customers convenience and choice to suit their holiday plans. The popular Thai destination remains a favourite amongst travellers from the Middle East, Europe and beyond. Emirates also resumed flights to Bangkok since September 2020, providing a daily service.

What Are The Rules For Vaccinated Passengers Travelling To Phuket?

All passengers (irrespective of vaccination status) must perform a COVID‑19 PCR test 72 hours prior to departure into Phuket. Vaccinated passengers must have received their vaccines at least 14 days prior to their travel to Thailand to avoid quarantine.

As per the latest guidelines of the Thai government, Phuket accepts Pfizer BioTech, AstraZeneca, Covidshield (Serum Institute of India), Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac, SK BIOSCIENCE AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Sinopharm vaccines. If the vaccine is not among the approved list, the passenger must undergo a 14‑day quarantine.

Passengers between ages 12 and 17 years old can undergo a Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival at HKT airport at their own expense which costs between TBH1200 to TBH1500. In addition, all passengers must also undergo a Covid PCR test on day 5, after arrival. Children under 12 years old can travel to Phuket with their parents and do not need to undergo any test.

What Are The Rules For Non-Vaccinated Passengers Travelling To Phuket?

Non‑vaccinated passengers will need to undergo COVID‑19 RT PCR testing upon arrival and stay at an Alternative Local Quarantine Hotel for 14 days. This can be booked either directly with hotel or online through agoda.com/.

All passengers, irrespective of vaccination status) must undergo another COVID‑19 PCR test upon departure from Phuket if the airline or destination requires it.
