With the advent of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, chefs and foodies got super innovative with their culinary creations. A variety of coronavirus themed foods popped up from across the world. Corona Vada Recipe Video Creates Interest On Social Media

A woman, who goes by@mimpful shared a recipe video on Twitter for a unique Corona Vada. The video begins with the chef preparing dough with rice flour, cumin and salt. She starts kneading the dough with lukewarm water. Next, to prepare the filling for the vada, the chef adds chopped green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves in a pan with hot oil, tempering it slowly. The chef then adds chopped capsicum, grated red carrot and mixes it well. A pinch of turmeric, garam masala, amchur powder and salt is added to the pan. The mixture is sauteed well and sprinkled with chopped coriander.

Rice Grains On The Vada Resemble Covid Spokes

The filling is left for cooling, then rolled into small balls and stuffed inside the dough balls. Finally, she coats the balls with soaked rice, so it represents the spokes of the Covid-19 virus. While this dish initially appears quite ordinary, wait till you steam them. After which, the rice grains on the coating resemble the unmissable coronavirus, which would create a sense of deja vu, or perhaps even make people uncomfortable.
