This year, Goa was the location for the StartUp20 Engagement Group and delegates from all over the world were attending it. The state’s tourism minister, Rohan Khaunte, stated that they are planning to create ‘Sea Hubs’. According to a report in The Economic Times, Sea Hubs are co-working spaces that will provide conducive workspace to professionals.
In addition to this, this initiative will also provide them with a chance to rejuvenate the coastal landscape. These workspaces will provide a healthy work-life balance. Moreover, these spaces will be built at 12 beaches. The state government also intends to draw investments and fully operationalise the Tuem, in North Goa, Electronic Manufacturing Cluster.
They Even Plan To Create Design Villages!
The Goa government also has plans to establish a “Design Village” that will support innovative technologies. This community will act as a centre for creators and innovators, giving them the perfect setting to develop their skills and push the limits of creation. Additionally, a “Creative Hub” in Dona Paula, close to the state capital Panaji, is being developed to house companies in cutting-edge industries like finance and fashion technology, visual effects, augmented reality, and more.
The minister added that a park dedicated to information technology will be built at Porvorim, close to Panaji, to promote the expansion of small and medium-sized businesses.
The state government is drawing out ambitious plans that will provide new and exciting opportunities to everyone. This will help to boost the economy and offer a new look to the landscape.
The Startup20 Engagement group is a group formed under G20 India Presidency 2023. It is performing as a dialogue forum between startup ecosystem stakeholders across the globe.
They aim to raise the startup ecosystem and address the challenges faced by them.
