World’s Tallest Woman Flies For The First Time; Airline Removes 6 Economy Seats To Accommodate Her

Do you know who is the world’s tallest woman? Her name is Rumeysa Gelgi and she is 7 feet tall. With this towering height also comes a lot of challenges. Doing normal activities like driving a car, hopping on a bus or boarding a plane is not at all easy for her. But recently, with the help of Turkish airlines, Rumeysa finally flew on a plane for the first time. Here is how it went.

World’s Tallest Woman Flies In An Airline

Turkish airlines created history by making arrangements to fly Rumeysa Gelgi. The Guinness World Record Holder flew from Turkey in Istanbul to San Francisco in the U.S. The airline removed 6 seats in its Economy class to make sure that Rumeysa is comfortable. They replaced the seats for Gelgi to comfortably lie down with a stretcher that was made especially for her.

Gelgi posted pictures from her first-ever flight on her Instagram and thanked all the authorities and staff of Turkish airlines. She also thanked them for organising a first flight celebration up in the air for her. She thanked everyone around and with her for their support which made her 19 hours (13 in the air and 6 in the airport) comfortable and special.
