Covid-19 cases in the world are on the rise again, and like every other business, Yas Island theme parks are also doing their bit to ensure the safety of visitors and their employees. The theme park is set to become the first in the region to become fully contactless. Yep, that’s right. Yas Island Theme Parks has set up facial recognition technology- it aims to offer quick and queue-free access to the parks. Furthermore, it also aims to make payment methods contactless.

Facial Recognition Is Long-term And The Future

Face Pass technology will be rolled in Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros World. On this, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral said,

“Beyond the ‘wow’ factor, this kind of contactless technology is the future for all consumer-facing businesses. Not only does it save time and provide unrivalled convenience, it largely enhances guest safety and wellbeing through touchless interaction, ensuring world-class safety measures and ease of social distancing.”

Technology Is Facilitated By The Yas Island Mobile App

In terms of this uber cool and much-needed technology, it is facilitated by the Yas Island mobile app. It is also linked to the island’s parks and attractions’ ticketing systems and turnstiles. The app allows guests and pass holders contactless access at points of entry and contactless payment via facial recognition across select retail and dining outlets.

This digital transformation is a long-term plan for Yas Island and will soon see FacePass technology integrated into all assets, from access points for residential and communal areas to retail and F&B destinations.
