Govt To Call You From 1921 For COVID-19 Survey

If you get a call from 1921 anytime soon, be assured that it is from the Government of India, meant for a good cause. The government has announced that it will conduct a telephonic survey to receive feedback from the citizens on COVID-19. The survey will be carried out by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India. Read on to know more.

What Is It?

The government has recently released a ‘Tele survey through 1921’ statement which says that a call will be coming into peoples’ mobile phones for the coronavirus survey. The survey aims at taking feedbacks of the citizens to analyse the ‘prevalence and distribution of Covid symptoms.‘ It  has also alerted citizens that calls coming from other numbers with the same cause might be a prank act. Only 1921 is the genuine number.

What Else?

India has now about 19,984 confirmed cases, out of which around 15, 474 are active and the death toll is 640. From airport checkups and door-to-door rapid screening to temperature monitoring through drones, the government has taken up several measures till date to curb the spread of the virus. And now these telephonic calls might assist in putting an end to the pandemic even faster.
