Wizz Air’s Maltese subsidiary has received permission from the ENAC, the Italian National Aviation Organisation. They are planning to operate up to seven weekly flights between Italy and India. The permit’s validity is only good for the winter of 2023–2024, nevertheless.
Wizz Air’s debut flights may likely include a layover in an intermediate location. As the airline does not presently have an aircraft that can travel the distance between the two nations without interruption. An estimated 45 aircraft will be grounded until the end of the financial year 2024, which concludes on March 31, 2024, according to Wizz Air (W6) Holdings. They have disclosed their plans for handling Pratt & Whitney GTF engine inspections for their Airbus A320neo family operations. This estimate is based on verification carried out in conjunction with Pratt & Whitney and a service bulletin that was published on November 3, 2023.
The low-cost carrier company stated that variables such as engine utilisation (cycle count), spare engine availability, and MRO induction slot availability will determine the final tally of affected aircraft for the balance of this fiscal year and beyond. Wizz Air stressed that “management actions and OEM compensation” will mitigate the financial and operational effects of the groundings.

The Airline’s Other Flight Operations
Wizz Air is going to start running a new route from Luton to Salzburg. The budget carrier will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Luton to the Austrian city. The service will start operating on February 8, 2024, with fares starting at £21.99.
According to Communications manager Zsuzsa Trubek, they are happy to announce the addition of a new route that will connect families in Austria with the UK, offering travellers yet another fantastic vacation choice from London Luton. Earlier, the airline announced resuming service between London Luton Airport (LTN) and Moldova’s Chisinau International Airport (KIV). They claim that the route’s reopening demonstrates Wizz Air’s commitment to attending to its customers’ travel needs by allowing travellers to schedule lengthy getaways, weekend getaways, or family visits.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will be the airline’s weekly schedule between London and Chisinau. Wizz Air will also operate flights from the Moldovan capital to Milan and Rome, according to the airport’s website, in addition to trips to Luton.
