Indian street cuisine flavours serve as the inspiration for the “Chutney Sour”. This beer is brewed using tamarind, a staple of Indian chutneys. The new beer flavour is a collaboration launch. It combines the vibrant flavours of Indian street food and the illustrious craft brewing heritage of Colorado. The collaboration is between New Belgium Brewing, one of the largest craft brewers in the United States, and Bira 91.

The beer is launched in the taprooms of New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, and Bira 91 in Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR. Through partnerships like these, beers get exciting flavour combinations and further develop beer innovation. However, they are limited, they will only be produced once. Further, they are available for purchase in the taprooms while supplies last.

Tasting Notes Of Chutney Sour

The beer is based on the traditional Dubbel, a Belgian-style ale refined by the New Belgium Brewery, and is brewed with tamarind, a puckering sour fruit used in Indian chutneys and curries. A Belgian Ale brewed with tamarind, the chutney-inspired beer presents an intense flavour bomb. The beer combines two ingredients: tamarind, which adds a tangy-sour flavour to the creamy, malty, and spicy Belgian ale. Toast, fig, raisin, and dark fruit aromas abound in the scent, which is nicely balanced by the tamarind’s sharpness. With 7% ABV content and a glaze copper amber hue, it presents a melting pot of flavours.

In recent years, adventurous brewers have sought to harness the culinary magic of chutney and infuse it into the world of craft beer. The landscape of craft beer is ever-evolving. Innovation knows no bounds. In a world where the line between tradition and innovation is constantly blurred, chutney sour beer shows beer creativity knows no bounds.

So, are you heading to the taprooms to have a sip?
