A fire broke out in two different areas in Delhi. One broke out on the night of Saturday, May 25 at a children’s hospital in Vivek Vihar and the other one broke out at a four-storey residential building in Krishna Nagar. This fire broke out in the wee hours of Sunday, May 26. Unfortunately, both fires ended up claiming a few lives. Around seven babies lost their lives in the fire at the children’s hospital and three people lost their lives in the Krishna Nagar fire.

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, the fire broke out at New Born Baby Care Hospital. Around 12 babies were brought out of the children’s hospital. However, seven of them succumbed to the fire.

As per the officials cited in the HT article, one of the babies had died before the call to the fire department was made. The rescued babies who survived are currently under intensive care. One baby is on the ventilator while others are being treated.

A total of nine trucks were sent to douse the fire. The fire was doused successfully and the infants were rescued from the upper floors of the hospital.

Three People Killed In Another Fire At Krishna Nagar This Morning

In another tragic incident, a house in Krishna Nagar caught fire in the early hours of Sunday. Three people lost their lives in the fire. Parmila, who was 66 years old, Keshav Sharma, who was 18 years old and Anju Sharma, who was 34 years old, passed away in the fire.

A total of 12 people were rescued from the fire and are currently being treated in nearby hospitals. As of now, the exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained however, it is speculated that the fire started near the 11 two-wheelers which were parked on stilts outside the home.
