Choi’s journey in the business world began with a bold vision to revolutionise the dessert experience. Born in Seoul, South Korea, he later immigrated to the United States, where he pursued his passion for entrepreneurship. A graduate of the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, Choi embarked on a remarkable journey that would shape the frozen dessert landscape in New York City and beyond.

Under Choi’s leadership, 16 Handles flourished, expanding to as many as 40 locations worldwide. His dedication to creating moments of happiness resonated with customers, and his iconic brand became synonymous with quality and innovation. In 2022, Choi made the decision to sell the franchise to Neil Hershman.

Neil Hershman, the individual who purchased 16 Handles from Choi, conveyed deep sorrow over the loss of an innovative leader. Hershman described Choi as a visionary whose creative methods in the realm of frozen desserts brought happiness to numerous people.

Choi’s impact extended beyond the realm of frozen yoghurt. He was also the founder of Greeno Products, a supplier of custom disposables for the food service industry, and Jabba Brands, a venture aimed at advising and investing in food service companies. Additionally, Choi was known for his involvement as an Angel Squad member at Hustle Fund, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage startups.
