Mumbai is coming up with an 8 km ropeway so that you can reach the beautiful Elephanta Caves within 40 minutes.

What Is It?

Mumbai’s longest ropeway is under construction and it will take you to Elephanta Caves within 40 minutes. But what’s the best part? This rope-way will be over the sea and its going to be 8 km long! The project has been taken up by Mumbai Port Trust and it will be able to accommodate 20 people at a time.

What’s In It?

Your journey will begin at Sewari Fort in the east coast of Mumbai and the final destination will be across the harbour and in Raigad district of the island. There will be one station through the journey with a city tower. The tower is going to have a viewing gallery, an entertainment deck, hanging restaurants with a glass base, a submerged restaurant and many other facilities.

Currently, you will need to hop onto a ferry ride to reach Elephanta Caves, but the ropeway will surely be a game-changer!
