Kalawanti Doshi & Her Husband Started A Fafda Stall In Nagpur
75-year-old Kalawanti Doshi, moved to Nagpur from Gujarat with her family to start over. But a year later after moving to Nagpur, her husband lost his job. In a video posted by Humans of Bombay, it’s revealed that Kalawanti Doshi and her husband started a fafda thela with just ₹60 in hand. While initially, the couple could hardly make ends meet as they earned just ₹50 a day. But over time their delicious food became popular and the locals lovingly started calling them Fafdewaale. The couple ran this fafda stall for 30 years, selling lip-smacking Gujarati snacks.

75-year-old Dadi Prepares Homemade Fafda & Other Snacks With A Smile
People flocked from all across Nagpur, just to taste authentic Gujarati food prepared with love and precision. Unfortunately, Kalawanti Doshi’s husband died 10 years ago. While her kids asked her to retire, she believed the show must go on as she was the other half of the Fafdewaale. The 75-year-old continues to prepare fresh fafdas every day at her stall from 11 am to 8pm. Her hundred-watt smile and out-of-this-world Gujarati snacks, especially fafda has made a special place in the hearts of Nagpur folks.

Despite Challenges, She Spreads Smiles Through Her Delicious Food
Dadi is her own boss, earns her own money and brings happiness to the lives of thousands of people through her soulful food. She doesn’t use any machines at her stall, Ramanush Fafadawala, everything is handmade. Her son is a huge fan of the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, depicting a homely Gujarati family. Sporting a t-shirt of the lead, Jethalal, he continues to support his mother. Dadi aka Kalawanti Doshi has inspired everyone to follow their dreams and make the world a happier place.
