Migrant workers have been adversely affected after the pandemic and many of them are still covering long distances on foot to reach their villages and towns. The rising temperatures outside are making their journeys even more challenging. The roads become blazing hot, especially during the daytime, and walking barefoot on them becomes extremely painful. Understanding the problem, the police department of Agra has decided to offer slippers and shoes to these migrants. Read on.

What’s Happening?

The Agra police are providing free footwear to the migrant workers who are crossing Agra on foot now. They have set up stalls in Sadar Circle to distribute the shoes. As per ANI reports, Vikas Jaiswal, CO Sadar informed that apart from footwear, the cops are also offering food and water to these labourers amid the crisis. He added that they are rendering assistance to the children, women and men who are walking barefoot and will continue providing these services in the coming days.
