Amala Paul Denied Entry In Kerala Temple Because She Isn’t Hindu, Says, ‘It Is Sad And Disappointing!’

A leading actress of the Malayalam industry, Amala Paul visited Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple. This temple in Kerala denied her darshan of the deity for not being a Hindu practioner.

India is a secular nation where people of varied religions live in harmony, with respect for each other’s beliefs, cultures, and traditions.

Despite all this, controversies pertaining to religions came to the surface time and again. This time, the authorities at the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Kerala have become the centre of attention after denying entry to a Malayalam actress, Amala Paul. The reason for not allowing her inside the temple was that she practised a different religion than Hinduism.

Christian Actress Denied Entry Into Hindu Temple

As per the reports,  this practitioner of Christianity was not permitted on the grounds of the temple located in Kerela’s Ernakulam.

The temple is said to only allow Hindu practitioners inside, which upset the Malayalam actress.

Only Hindus are reportedly permitted inside the temple’s grounds, which are located in Kerala’s Ernakulam. Amala was upset because she was turned away because she practises Christianity.

On Monday, Amala visited Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple and requested a darshan of the deity. Her request was reportedly refused by the authorities, who clarified that the temple only allowed Hindu worshippers on its grounds.

She shared her encounter with authorities in the visitor book of the temple, sharing her despair over this discrimination. 

Amala Paul Expressed Her Sadness

Expressing her sorrow, she wrote about her surprise at witnessing and experiencing religious discrimination in 2023. She shared about feeling the presence of the Goddess’ spirit, even though the darshan was denied.

She also talked about her hopes for our country to get over religious prejudices in the future, expecting equal regard for everyone.

In response to the incident, the trust secretary of the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple quickly stated that followers of other religions had previously visited the deity. 

The temple leaders continued by saying that they were simply adhering to long-established procedures in the temple. 

Amala Paul is a leading and much sought-after actress in the South. She is soon to star in a project with Ajay Devgn.
