Ambidextrous MP School Where Students Can Write With Both Hands May Shut Down. Here’s Why!

Madhya Pradesh is home to India’s only ambidextrous school. The meaning of “ambidextrous” is someone who knows how to write using both left and right hands. The ability to write using both hands is known as ambidexterity. Veena Vadini Public School in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district is an ambidextrous school. But this school may soon shut down due to the inability of the school’s administration to pay its staff.

India’s Only Ambidextrous School

Veena Vadini Public School was established in 1999. By far, about 480 students have graduated from the school and are ambidextrous. The founder of this school, Virangat Prasad Sharma, says that he is sure that his students are two times faster than students from other schools. He was inspired by the then-President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who could write with both hands.

Apart from this skill, the students at this school have also acquired language skills. They can also write in six different languages, namely English, Sanskrit, Roman, Hindi, Urdu, and Arabic. Another surprising part is that many of these students can write in two different languages simultaneously. Researchers from across the world have visited this school to conduct a study on ambidexterity.
