On one Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met the legendary Asha Bhosle! She flew all the way to Dubai and enjoyed a sneak peek into the kitchen of Asha’s Restaurant. Asha Ji even donned a chef’s hat and coat! The conversations began with the topic of love for food and we bonded so well.
Asha Bhosle Recalled Cooking Biryani For Her Son Anand
While speaking about her love for cooking, Asha Ji reminisced about the time she prepared meals for her youngest son, Anand Bhosle. Anand was fond of biryani, mutton, and chicken dishes from the early age of four or five. So much so that he would ask her to make some of his favourite dishes the moment she stepped into the house after a long day at work!
Asha Ji recalled she would return home after recording at the studios and even before removing her purse, Anand would question what she was up to. As a mother, she understood that this was her cue to prepare his favourite dish. Without thinking too much and not changing into comfortable clothes, Asha would simply wash her hands properly and cook biryani for all her kids.
Then, all of them would stuff themselves with the freshly prepared biryani and enjoy. All those years of Asha ji feeding Anand his favourite dishes came with a rewarding grand restaurant in Dubai and more! Scroll further to know more.
He Is The Brainchild Behind Asha’s Restaurant In Dubai
Asha Ji revealed that Dubai is not an uncommon destination for her anymore. Anand lives in this city and she frequently visits him. She told us that Dubai’s Asha’s Restaurant was Anand’s idea and he was able to fulfil it flawlessly. He dreamt of opening a restaurant in her name that would honour her cooking skills.
The next key point for the restaurant was a menu with all the delectable and aromatic dishes similar to the ones his mother prepared during his childhood. Her food specialities are not just limited to meat dishes and biryani. With time, she picked up different techniques, skills and cuisines from various people, places and cultures and perfectly aced every dish!
