Indore Becomes The First Indian City To Be Selected For International Clean Air Catalyst Programme

Clean Air Catalyst Programme is an initiative by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), WRI and the Environmental Defense Fund to expedite clean air solutions in cities. The only Indian city to be selected in this international project is Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, which is also known as the cleanest city in the country. With the cooperation of Indore Municipal Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, the project will be in operation for five years to purify the air of the city.

Asia’s Longest High-Speed Track Comes Up In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore

India got the longest high-speed track in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore measuring 11.3Km. It is the fifth-longest high-speed track in Asia and the fifth-largest in the world. The high-speed track in Pithampur town will be used for automotive as well as component testing by automobile companies. The Union minister of heavy industries and public enterprises Prakash Javadekar inaugurated National Automotive Test Tracks. The facility will measure the maximum speed capabilities of high-end cars and other vehicles. Manufacturers can also use the four-lane track to carry out development and homologation tests for all kinds of vehicles. Indore Bags Cleanest City In India Title For 4th Time; Patna Dirtiest City.

The Track Will Enable A Wide Variety Of Automotive Tests

The high-speed test track is oval-shaped and is located 50 km away from Indore. The track has been designed for neutral speeds up to 250 kmph and a maximum speed of up to 375 kmph. The massive size of the test track will enable performing a wide variety of automotive tests such as coast down tests, brake tests, speedometer calibration, noise test, constant speed fuel consumption test, vibration measurement, and mileage accumulation test, among others.

NATRAX Offers 14 Different Types Of Testing Tracks

NATRAX offers 14 different types of testing tracks that include braking track, fatigue track, comfort track, handling track, gradient track, sustainability track, among others. They also have R&D laboratories and workshops for testing vehicles ranging from two-wheelers to heavy commercial trucks.

While inaugurating the high-speed track, Javadekar said that it is a key initiative in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “High-Speed Track is the heart of any proving ground for the auto sector. Today, inaugurated the longest high-speed track in Asia at Indore.”
