As the ‘City of Dreams’ is getting ready for the grand celebrations, Mumbai traffic released a set of restrictions around Mount Mary Church in Bandra. Before the crowds of visitors surround Mount Mary Church, Mumbai traffic police announced several restrictions to follow during Bandra Fair 2024. The announcements need to be followed around Mount Mary Church and in some areas of Bandra West as well. These decisions by the traffic police authorities will be effective from September 8 and will continue till September 16.

Like every other year, many stalls, shops, celebrations, and devotees from Mumbai and other parts of India will surround the Mother Mary Church during the iconic fair. Chances are that nearby roads may face issues regarding traffic jams. Ahead of any such probable congestion on the roads in Bandra and inconveniences for commuters, Mumbai traffic police have already announced properly planned routes to follow during this time to continue smooth transportation.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Samadhan Pawar, DCP (HQ and Central), Mumbai Traffic, issued the notification. Except for picking up or dropping passengers for immediate reasons, the authorities will ban parking or halting vehicles on both sides of these roads from 6 AM to 11 PM.

  • Mt. Camel Road
  • Chapel Road
  • John Baptist Road
  • St Sebastian Road
  • Rebello Road
  • Dr. Peter Dias Road
  • St Paul Road
  • Hill Road (between its junction on St. Paul’s Road and Mehboob Studio)
  • Dr. Peter Dias Road

There are a few more restrictions to avoid any chaos and congestion during the Bandra Fair. This list of ‘One Way/ No Entry’ will remain in effect from 6 AM to 11 PM.

  • No vehicles will be allowed on Mount Mary Road except for emergency vehicles and residents with car passes issued by police.
  • Kane Road will transform into a one-way lane for all vehicles. It will start from its junction on Mount Mary Road to B. J. Road. Also, this rule will not concern residents with car passes.
  • There will be a no-entry from B.J. Road on the Pereira Road. Pereira Road will be a one-way lane from East to West.
  • Vehicles will not be allowed to take right turns at Carmel Church Chapel on Chapel Road.
  • Other than residents carrying special passes, St. John Baptista Road will remain shut for all vehicles.
