Jawai sets the stage for a road trip filled with surprises. As you leave behind the flat plains, the terrain gradually transforms into undulating hills adorned with boulders and scrub vegetation. The rocky outcrops create a dramatic backdrop. The road leading out of Jawai winds through picturesque villages where traditional Rajasthani architecture meets the rugged terrain. Hence, it’s not uncommon to encounter local shepherds guiding their flocks through the hills, adding an authentic touch to the journey. The slow pace of life in these villages contrasts sharply with the hustle and bustle of life.

It should take roughly 3-4 hours to travel up, plus an additional hour to see the Fort. In the morning, the ride is easy on quiet roads through little villages. Being here near the end of the monsoon season is fantastic because the weather is sunny and dry yet the surroundings are verdant and beautiful.
