What’s It?

After studying Economics at the University of Nottingham, Adam Sopher decided to pursue his passion. What’s often a movie nibble for us, became the way of life for this young entrepreneur. Gourmet popcorn brand Joe & Seph can officially be called the best popcorn in town. The air popped corn in a range of innovative flavours, salted caramel, goat cheese and black pepper, peanut butter and mature cheddar cheese.

How It All Popped Up

We all love popcorn, but it turned into a passion for Adam Sopher. During his regular trips to the USA, Adam would return to the UK with a bag of flavoured popcorn. Soon he realized there was nothing like this in the UK, and that’s how the business idea was born. He tried his hands by air popping the popcorn and coating it in a smooth caramel made from fresh butter. He soon struck gold and went on to experiment with more flavours, including savoury ones made of cheese.

Adam and his family then took their popcorn idea to a food show in 2010, where they sold out in two days. And that’s how Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn was born. The popcorn is now stocked in 3,000 stores in 19 countries.

UAE residents can find it in Spinneys, Waitrose and stocked by Warner Brother World Theme Park, Emirates Airlines, Burj Al Arab Hotel, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and much more.

Way Forward

Going forward, Adam plans to continue growing the business alongside his parents, with an aim to have tripled in size over the next five years. He also plans to secure major retailers across the globe and add unique flavours to the menu.
