7 Free Online Services Available Now In The UAE

Since Covid 19 hit, the UAE is doing an excellent job at combatting the virus as best they can. They have offered numerous innovative ways to help affected people around the country. The police are patrolling neighborhoods every night, and several other steps are taken to ensure safety. A variety of services have now moved online, making it easier for residents.

From license renewal to e-learning and grocery shopping, here’s a list of all the online services you can enjoy in UAE for FREE.

1. Online Weddings

The UAE ministry is now providing a service for having Muslim weddings online. This service was introduced on 12 April and is a way for couples to continue to get married, while still being safe. The online service will include a marriage contract and a running communication with the authorities. They will communicate with the couple, and the guardian, and proceed with the marriage.

How to get married online?

  1. Log onto The Ministry of Justice website (moj.gov.ae)
  2. Click on the E-services option
  3. Choose E-systems
  4. Click E-Zawaj system (it has an icon with two rings)

Once all the necessary documents have been submitted, an appointment must be booked with the ministry of justice, where the online ceremony will take place.

2. Virtual Doctor

Health authorities have been conducting online chats with a virtual doctor. If you feel you have the symptoms of Covid 19, you can visit www.mohap.gov.ae, and click the virtual doctor option. You will be shown a chatbox with some Covid 19 related questions which will then asses how much at risk you are. You can also call the website hotline, and speak to an on-call doctor. He will guide you on the next necessary steps to be taken.

3. Distant Learning

As most of us are already aware, distant learning has been in process for more than a month now. School and college students now resort to e-learning classes, from the comfort of their home. This ensures continued learning, while staying indoors. In order to cushion the process and make it smooth, the UAE government eased restrictions on online apps like Zoom, Microsoft teams, Webex, and blackboard.

These online group chat services are easy to use, free of any payment, and have a clear connection. Companies also use it for online training and meetings. Other calling services like Voico and Botim, are also available to use free of charge in the UAE.

4. Online Grocery Shopping

There are several ways to shop for your groceries online, in light of Covid 19. Popular supermarkets such as Carrefour, Lulu hypermarket, and others have begun delivering groceries to homes. Other online services such as Kibsons, Instacart, Fresh to home, and many others, have been providing full swing deliveries to homes around the country.

5. Online Driving License Renewal

This is one of the most helpful e-services introduced in the country. Residents can now get their driving license renewed online, without the need for an eye test. The Roads and Transport Authority introduced an online service where you can renew your license from the comfort of your home. You can visit the RTA official website, or else check out the DubaiDrive app to start the process. Residents can obtain a one year license, and don’t have to worry about any expiry payments.

6. Online Banking

Many banking services are now being offered completely online, in order to ensure safety measures. First Abu Dhabi bank has notified all their customers of services being offered completely online, or via phone calls. Actions that require necessary documents, can be submitted online.
