Drunk Man On Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo Flight Tries To Open Emergency Exit, Case Registered

These days, the cases of drunk passengers causing nuisance in the flight has increased in number. Keeping up with the trend, another case on the same lines was reported. A drunk passenger who boarded an IndiGo flight from Delhi attempted to open the emergency exit on the plane. The incident took place on Friday on IndiGo’s Delhi-Bengaluru flight. A case against this passenger has now been registered.

Passenger Causes Nuisance On Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo Flight

The accused passenger, Pratheek, from Patrakarpuram in Kanpur boarded a Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight on April 7. He was seated on seat number 18F and the flight number was 6E-308. The passenger was drunk and tried to create trouble for the other passengers on board while the flight was mid-air.

Pratheek tried to open the emergency exit flap mid-air and was in an inebriated state. The crew on board noticed this violation and alerted the captain. The passenger was cautioned in an appropriate manner.

IndiGo airlines informed that there was no effect on the safe operation of the flight. They also mentioned that Pratheek was handed over to CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) after the flight landed in Bengaluru. A case was registered against him on a complaint by a crew member.

Drinking Limits On Flight

Apart from this incident on the Delhi-Bengaluru flight, there have been many incidents in the past where drunk passengers created nuisance in the flight.

Shark Anupam Mittal tweeted a snarky yet hilarious remark about international airlines’ alcohol policies. He requested that the airlines clarify what they mean when they talk about drinking limits on flights.

Mittal suggested that on-board spirits be limited to two drinks per passenger in order to save money and avoid embarrassment. He referred to this solution as a total win-win situation for both the airline and the passengers.
