Dubai Man Violates Home Quarantine Rules; Posts Video On Social & Ends Up With AED 50000 Fine

With Covid-19 cases on the rise, Dubai has tightened rules to ensure the safety of residents. From tourists to residents- separate rules have been laid out for everyone in the city. However, despite strict rules, one young man dared to violate rules and even post the same on social media. Read on to know what happened. Meanwhile, here’s list of all the new rules tourists must know. 

Man Violates Covid Rules In Dubai, Ends Up In Custody

A young man in Dubai was arrested for breaking home quarantine rules. Dubai Police revealed that the young man tested positive for Covid-19. He was also asked to quarantine at home by health officials. However, he went against all the rules and stepped out to out to buy coffee, putting his life and that of others in risk. He then posted of the same on video on social media.

Dubai police have now put the man under quarantine and legal action has been taken against him. Not only did he break quarantine rules, but also bragged about his reckless behavior by publishing the same on social media. As per Dubai’s Covid-19 fines, failing to adhere to home quarantine instructions will lead to a fine of AED 50,000.

In addition, publishing information about the country is punishable by imprisonment and/or a fine of between AED 200,000 and AED 1,000,000. Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said: “#We_Are_All_Responsible’ and called on all members of the community to comply with the protective measures and guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.”

The UAE government urged the public to adhere to all the Covid rules, especially when outdoors. Violating the rules will lead to hefty fines and penalties. A fine of AED 50,000 will be slapped for violating quarantine upon arrival in Dubai.

UAE’s Updated List Of Covid-19 Fines

Quarantine & Tracking App

AED 50,000: Refusing to hospitalise or undergo the prescribed medication or treatment despite notification.

AED 50,000: Failure to adhere to home quarantine or private quarantine measures according to the home quarantine manual, failure to undergo re-examinations according to health procedures; or abstaining from implementing instructions.

AED 10,000 : Fiddling with the tracking app, failure to carry the smart device during home quarantine; losing, destroying or disrupting the network or the tracking communication.The violator will also be charged the full value of the electronic device if it is lost or damaged.

AED 20,000: Hacking health app or tampering with its software, deleting or destroying relevant programmes, illegally obtaining related data or information, or initiating any of these actions.

AED 10,000: Failure to inform the call centre about loss or damage of the tracking divide within 24 hours

On that note, UAE Is Now Planning To Use Cardboard Beds From India In Quarantine Centres.

Shops And Commercial Outlets

AED 50,000: Violating commercial centre and an administrative closure for one month

AED 50,000: For the person in charge of the commercial store outside the commercial center

AED 20,000: Failure to set up thermal scanners or not complying to the precautionary measures and instructions by the relevant authorities when opening facilities. The person in charge of the facility will be fined AED 20,000.

Social Gatherings

AED 10,000: For those caught organizing gatherings or social events like a wedding or party

AED 5,000: For attending social or public gatherings

AED 5000: For violating arrivals in the country. Failure to follow preventive measures laid out by the UAE government for all those arriving in the county.

AED 3000: Refusing to remove any luggage, clothing or other items, which may have been contaminated and which are possible to be disinfected

AED 5000: Failure to clean and sterilise equipment, devices and machines within the establishments, or equipment and tools that come in contact with food.

Transport

AED 3000: For more than three passengers traveling in the same car, except for members of the same family or up to second-degree relatives

AED 5000: Not Disinfecting public and private (taxis) vehicles
