In an exclusive interview with The Hindu, he revealed the purpose behind his trip, what he did and all the places he saw while he was here. Not many people knew that he was visiting India. It was only when he shared pictures from Rishikesh and Dharamshala on his social media, that everyone found out.

Rainn Wilson was recently in India and all Desi ‘The Office’ fans tried to “Stay F****** Calm!”
In an exclusive interview with The Hindu, the actor revealed that he was in India as part of a delegation under the auspices of Harvard University. He mentioned that they have a division that studies happiness along with Arthur Brooks, a writer and professor.
Rainn Wilson has been interested in spirituality and a lot of his passion projects centre around the concept. He even has a podcast called ‘Soul Boom.’ That is mainly why he came to India. In the interview, he mentioned that he interviewed the Dalai Lama for his podcast.
His stay in India was somewhere around 12 days and during this time, he visited Varanasi – where he saw the aarti on the banks of the river, Rishikesh, Dharamshala and The Golden Temple. He also saw the India-Pakistan border and saw the flag ceremony there.

Rainn Wilson practices the Baha’i faith and he has always been curious about different faith traditions. His upbringing has nurtured a lifelong interest in spirituality and it is a huge part of his life.
India, with its diverse spiritual demographic, turned out to be the perfect landscape for his spiritual honing. He mentioned how moving it was to see Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Jains all worshipping their respective deities with such unity.
