Emirates Returns AED 5 Billion To Customers In Refunds

Emirates has returned over AED 5 billion (US$ 1.4 billion) in COVID-19 related travel refunds to date, making strong and steady progress on its commitment to customers to complete pending refunds. More than 1.4 million refunds requests have been completed since March, representing 90% of the airline’s backlog. This includes all requests received from customers around the world up until the end of June.

Since the pandemic hit, Emirates has invested additional resources to ramp up its processing capability. The airline also continues to work with industry partners to facilitate refunds for those who have booked their Emirates flights through travel agents, this includes enabling direct refunds processing via global booking systems (GDS).

Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline said: “We understand that from our customers’ standpoint, each pending refund request is one too many. We are committed to honouring refunds and are trying our utmost to clear the massive and unprecedented backlog that was caused by the pandemic. Most cases are straightforward, and these we will process quickly. But there are cases which will take a bit more time for our customer teams to manually review and complete. We are grateful to our customers for their patience and understanding.”

Emirates Employees To Receive FULL Salaries From 1 October

It looks like bad days are finally over for Emirates employees. In a recent announcement, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group said: “You will be relieved to know that from October 1, we are reinstating full basic salaries across the board. This does not mean we are out of the woods – there are many challenges ahead in an environment of considerable uncertainty, and we will need to respond accordingly and decisively.”

The announcement comes in time when the airline added more destinations to its route. In addition, Emirates also plans to resume flights to all destinations by the summer of 2021. Despite the sever crunch, Emirates Also Refunded AED 1.9 Billion To Passengers In Two Months and also announced Mandatory Covid Negative Certificate For Travellers From 10 Countries.

Emirates To Resume Flights To Amman From 8 September

Countries are slowly beginning to reopen after the long Covid-19 lockdown. Emirates airline recently resumed passenger services to Bangkok from 1 September. Later, the airlines announced its resumption of flights to Lusaka from 4 September. 

And now, the airline has added yet another new city to its route. Emirates has announced it will resume passenger services to Amman, Jordan from 8 September. The resumption of flights to the Jordanian capital takes the number of destinations Emirates serves in the Gulf and Middle East to eight cities, as the airline gradually resumes operations with the safety of its customers, crew and communities as its top priority.

Emirates Resumes Flights To Amman

Flights from Dubai to Amman will operate as a daily service on the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER and can be booked on emirates.com or via travel agents.

Emirates flight EK903 will depart Dubai at 1500 hrs, and will arrive in Amman at 1655hrs. As for the return flight, EK 904 will depart Amman at 1900 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 2300 hrs. Passengers travelling between the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific can enjoy safe and convenient connections via Dubai, and Customers can stop over or travel to Dubai as the city has re-opened for international business and leisure visitors. 

Ensuring the safety of travellers, visitors, and the community, COVID-19 PCR tests are mandatory for all inbound and transit passengers arriving to Dubai (and the UAE), including UAE citizens, residents and tourists, irrespective of the country they are coming from. In addition, passengers flying to and from Jordan have to meet the requirements of their destination.

Emirates Launches New Booking Policies

Emirates’ booking policies offer customers flexibility and confidence to plan their travel. Customers who purchase an Emirates ticket by 31 August 2020 for travel on or before 30 November 2020,  can enjoy generous rebooking terms and options, if they have to change their travel plans due to unexpected flight or travel restrictions relating to COVID-19, or when they book a Flex or Flex plus fare.
