Everything You Need To Know To Get Money From IRCTC Against Tejas Express Delays

The Tejas Express is India’s first private semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train. If it fails to deliver on this promise, passengers are going to be compensated for delays. Time is literally money for Tejas! Last month, the Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express suffered a huge blow in the bank due to delayed start from Lucknow in the morning. IRCTC had to pay passengers ₹1.62 lakh as compensation for a Tejas Express delay. The process of claiming the allotted amount garnered some criticism. So, Indian railways has approved two new ways of getting your compensation as soon as possible.

What is it

Passengers can claim their money by either calling the call center on 1800-266-5844, or by writing an e-mail to irctcclaims@libertyinsurance.in. Tejas Express passengers will have to call the travel insurance provider to initiate the process. Be prepared with your documents like PNR and Certificate of Insurance number etcetera. The IRCTC says that the claims of 134 passengers have been approved. Out of these, 74 passengers have hence received their claims. The remaining 84 passengers are yet to submit the required documents in order to claim their share. India’s only private train, Tejas Express declared ₹3.70 Cr revenue in its first month.

What’s more

India’s first semi-high-speed AC train, Tejas Express pledged to pay ₹100 for over one-hour delay and ₹250 for over two hours delay. This is a great way to keep services in check. We have been heavily impressed with Japan’s way of protest. In March 2018, public bus drivers went on strike by giving free rides. Now that’s how you get your government to hear your voice. IRCTC has been taking major steps to improve connectivity and travel experience. They’ve taken it upon themselves to make sure their passengers vacation more travel less as Indian Railways plans to increase train speeds by December 2019.

We’re glad effort is being directed at making procedures easier and simpler for common people. God knows how much we hate the IRCTC website for the unnecessary inconvenience of its design and form. Every little procedure in Indian offices is often the most complicated version of itself. This needs to change and IRCTC knows it. The 21st century demands fast procedures, specially for Tejas Express, a fast train.

Without convenient processes, there is no point of offering rebate or refund. Tejas has our hearts and we’re boarding soon. Don’t you want the express experience too?
