Vacation More Travel Less As Indian Railways To Increase Train Speed By December 2019

Indian Railways has a Diwali surprise for us. Okay, that’s not what they said but we sure feel festive. There’s big news coming our way. Holidays and family visits this season are going to be way easier. You might even be able to spend some extra time outside the city, courtesy IRCTC. Incredible India’s got a boggling rail network that somehow runs perfectly. But it’s not perfect for some people. Not us, them, the railways themselves. IRCTC has decided they can optimize the rail and make it even better.

By December 2019, Indian Railways will have made your journeys much shorter. IRCTC is all set to increase the speed of trains across the country. The regularity of railways is beating the regularity of your rent. The numbers have jumped to 74% in September from 67% last September. Now it’s time to save precious hours from everybody’s lives. This is going to influence business and personal life for the entire country.

Trains are not running at maximum speeds! Indian trains are great, but the management needs a little push. Reasons for delay include unmanned railways crossings, non-interlocked sections and single-line operations. They’re all being resolved quickly and are scheduled to no longer slow us down in 2020. Many trains are overstaffed, the excess workers will soon be deployed to better places like those unmanned crossings we talked about.

Railways officers say that we have double broad-gauge lines electrification, modern locomotives and rakes but the super-fast trains are not able to run at full capacity on many routes. The locomotives take a while to turn on some tracks. These problems are the main focus for now.

This speed project is a ₹18,000 crore 4-year long entail. We will have only high speed and semi high-speed trains in India that run at 320 and 160 kmph. Delhi already has Tejas Express and routes to Kashmir. Soon the whole country is going to be super-fast. No more delays or derails. There have been no casualties in the first half 2019 but train derailments and fire accidents are still too common. This is a massive concern for the country and Indian Railways is committed to bidding farewell to such mishaps forever. So, gear up India, travels are going to be on the cards this season!
