1. Saffron Harvest In Pampore Is A Sight To Behold!

2. The Harvesting Process Is Long; Very Long!

Farmers slowly handpick and collect the saffron flowers and then follow a procedure. They cautiously separate the stigma from the crocus and dry for around 12 hours. To make just 1 kg of the spice, it takes about 15,000-16,000 saffron flowers.

3. It Takes Hundreds Of Hours For Just 1 Kg Of This Spice

Saffron farming is a strenuous process and takes a lot of effort to bring its best flavourful royal essence. The steps are very detailed and take a lot of energy and focus from the beginning till packaging. The labour behind harvesting is immense and just 1kg takes about 370 hours to 470 hours.
