Akshay Kumar Worked At These Locations Before
Before Akshay Kumar became an actor, he had quite a journey. From Delhi to Dhaka, he worked at several places honing his skills and gaining life experiences. When Jani asks, he highlights the various odd jobs he did before becoming the superstar that we know today. In Kolkata, Akshay worked as an errand boy for a travel agency. Probably, this job provided him with insights into various aspects of people’s lives and helped him understand different perspectives.
Akshay Kumar also worked as a chef in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This experience further enriched his culinary skills and added to his diverse work background. Then, he worked as a waiter and a chef in Bangkok before entering the film industry. This experience helped him learn martial arts, which later became useful in his action-packed roles in Bollywood movies. Kumar spent his early years residing in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. He still recalls every detail of that location, particularly the food that was served in your tiny lanes. According to Akshay, he still owns the house there and goes there frequently; not much has changed about the location.

He Shares About His First Paycheck Days
Akshay Kumar’s first paycheck, earned during his time in Kolkata, holds a significant place in his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of Bollywood’s most prominent stars. On Sunday Brunch when Kamiya asked about his first paycheck days, Kumar opened up about how he started working at the age of 15. Despite his lack of education, he felt compelled to start earning a living. He informed us that this was only between ₹150 and ₹200 back in 1984 or 1985. The actor, then, landed a job as an errand boy for a travel agency. The amount on the paycheck might have been modest, but its value transcended monetary worth.
He informed us that he relocated to Dhaka, Bangladesh, after working in Kolkata. He was employed at the Purbani Hotel. After that, he relocated to Bangkok, landed in Dil Walo Ki Dilli, and eventually made his home in Mumbai, where he worked as an artificial jewellery salesperson.
