According to an article recently published in The Times Of India, owing to the Dudhsagar waterfalls, the Dharbandora taluka, which is where it is located, has become something of a picnic spot for families. Quepem and Cancona as well as Rivona also have many cascades.

The Sattari taluka, which houses around 13 waterfalls has also gained popularity since social media has gained momentum. Sanguem region, too, has multiple beautiful waterfalls which attract a lot of tourists. Two of whom, unfortunately, died at the Mainapi Falls. Jalavane and Sanvordem are also popular waterfalls which attract influencers.

The article talks about how there are about 25 big waterfalls in the state and many smaller ones. While speaking to TOI, a naturalist from Goa Tourism and Development Corporation or the GTDC, Vikash Kulkarni, stated that the smaller waterfalls generally disappear or thin out once the monsoon is over.

In addition to the famous waterfalls drawing huge crowds, many Instagram influencers have taken to exploring the lesser-known waterfalls as well. This is because many people want to showcase exclusive and novel content on their social media which makes them venture into inaccessible and, at times, even dangerous locations.

All because they want to be the first to expose it to the world. Kulkarni emphasises the importance of safety when exploring waterfalls that are not located in accessible areas. He routinely assists GTDC in its weekly treks and said that falls like Surla in Sattari are increasingly attracting social media influencers.
