From Lithuania To New Mexico: Here Are the Filming Locations For Stranger Things Season 4

A hit series on Netflix, Stranger Things has broken all the records. The release of Season 4 has created a buzz globally. The audience is waiting in anticipation for the next season, behind the scenes, or any gossip regarding this series. Stranger Things is set in Hawkins, Indiana. We all know, it is a fictional US town. But the real life shooting of it is confined to Atlanta, Georgia. The recent season went internationally to capture global setup. So, here are the locations where Stranger Things Season 4 was filmed.

1. Lithuania

The cliffhanger of the previous season, Hopper’s death is resolved. It is revealed that Hopper is alive and is a prisoner in Russia. Though the filming never happened in Russia, the environment was created instead. The actual location is Lukiškės Prison of Vilnius, Lithuania and was built in 1904.

2. Rome, Georgia

The Creel House, owned by Victor Creel, is an actual mansion in Rome, Georgia. It was built by Colonel Hamilton Yancey, a local lawyer in the late 19th century. The mansion was under renovation when the production team located this site. It was then created into a horrifying house.

3. Atlanta, Georgia

The Hawkins lab facility is actually Georgia Mental Health Institute. This hospital has preserved Georgian history and ran psychiatric research projects.

4. Duluth, Georgia

Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth was a deserted mall and was shut down before the shooting. The mall failed to attract new tenants and it became a filming centre for the series.

5. New Mexico

Albuquerque, New Mexico

After the shooting in Lithuania wrapped, the filming started in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fictional locations like Lenora Hills, California were filmed here. The filming partly took place at the facilities in Albuquerque.

The locations where the series is filmed are real. These locations are open for visitors as well. There were definitely some alterations made to these real-life locations to achieve the visual requirements for the reel.
