Stranger Things star David Harbour, known for playing the role of Chief Jim Hopper gushed about India, calling the country ‘a magical land’ and ‘like being on Mars’. The actor visited India in late 2018 and early 2019, during his visit, he shared several pictures of his trip on Instagram with a detailed caption. He described India as a place with a unique character. Read on to know David Harbour is so fond of India.

With Stranger Things, he won hearts. And with his recent role of Red Guardian aka Alexei Shostakov in Black Widow, he enthralled Marvel fans. Yes, we’re talking about none other than David Harbour, who harbours a deep love and connection for India. He revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla that all of India was a highlight for him. David gushed about people in India being beautiful, with open hearts. It was something he’d never experienced before. His most memorable moments were those spent by the river Ganga. Watching the green waters flowing up the North, he called India ‘a magical land’. With a belief system so different and unique to the western world, David Harbour felt like he was on Mars.

His Time At River Ganga Was His Favourite Memory In India

During his trip to India in 2019, David Harbour revealed that he interacted with overactive monkeys trying to steal his sugar packets at breakfast. The Stranger Things actor also got a relaxing body massage with a combination of oils and herbs. In his words, the massage was “heavenly”. In his long Instagram post, David Harbour called it the “greatest vacation” he’s ever had. He recollected his childhood memories in India, where he went on a cruise at the age of 14 years and even lost his pocket money. With fewer pictures to share of his trip, David Harbour revealed that he put down his device to truly immerse himself in the culture.
