When it comes to restrictions, Germany had imposed restrictions such as the closing of non-essential shops, closing schools, banning alcohol consumption in public, which were to remain in place until January 10. However, since the measures have had little impact on the spread of the virus, they have been extended. The country is also on a high alert amid the mutation of the new covid-19 strain, which was first found in the UK. As for Covid cases, Germany has reported more than 1.9 million cases of COVID-19 over the past year and more than 40,900 deaths.

The UK Has Also Updated Travel Rules For Passengers

Well, not only Germany, but the UK has also updated its rules for travellers. Soon travellers entering by air, land or sea in the country will have to present a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before entering the country. As per the updated rules, people who fail to produce the covid-19 negative certificate will have to pay a hefty fine. The fine is set at £500 (AED2,496) and applies to any traveller, except a small few. Children under 11, crews and those who travelled from counties without available testing infrastructure, are exempted from this rule.
