Get Ready For Unseasonal Rain As IMD Predicts Rainfall For Next 5 Days In Goa & Maha

We are sure you all, too, might have been surprised by the unseasonal rainfall that most parts of India have been witnessing this winter season. Thanks to global warming, but that is a topic to discuss some other day, though it needs action today. But here’s something important for people living in Mumbai, Pune, Goa, and some parts of Maharashtra. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in these parts for the next 5 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that from November 23 to November 27, strong, moisture-laden easterly winds will likely be visiting Maharashtra and Goa. This will lead to light to heavy showers in parts of Maharashtra, particularly the coastal Konkan area and Goa.

Rain is highly likely to fall over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada due to a strong easterly wave. From November 23 to November 27, these areas may see light to moderate rains, according to Anupam Kashyapi, Head of the Weather Forecasting Division, IMD, Pune.

Pune, in western Maharashtra, is expected to have very light to moderate rains and thunder throughout the period of November 24-27, he said.

Mumbai is included in the Konkan administrative division, and so are some of the surrounding districts.

The southern part of the country has already witnessed heavy rainfall in the past few weeks, with many of them facing flood-like situations. This was because of the easterly trough around those areas.

Skymet reports that an easterly trough that is bringing rain to the coast of Tamil Nadu is moving from east to west and will shortly pass across Kerala and the surrounding districts. Mumbai is predicted to have some rainfall activity on November 25 and 26 as a result of the trough’s extension.

On November 24th, clouds are predicted to appear as well. November 25 and 26 will see good rains throughout the city; on November 27, there will be less of them. The meteorological department projected that the clearing would occur around November 28.

A ‘yellow alert’ has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Goa on November 23 and 24. The advisory warns locals of the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and winds gusting to between 30 and 40 kmph in isolated locations. Additionally, until Sunday, the alert predicts light to heavy rainfall in a few locations.

The weather conditions are expected to be similar for the subsequent three days in a few places in the state. It is anticipated that the minimum temperature will remain relatively stable for the upcoming 4-5 days in the state.

The weather department has already asked all the authorities in the state as well as the residents to keep themselves updated with the weather conditions. This will help them take the necessary precautions if the weather conditions change drastically.
