You might have visited zoos as a child, but now it’s your turn to visit a world-class zoo near Gujarat’s, Statue Of Unity. Yes! Gujarat is all set to start a world-class zoo near the world’s tallest statue. Animals and birds are being brought from 17 counties across the world. This zoo will be developed near the Statue of Unity in the Narmada district. And let’s tell you in the coming years, this zoo will definitely be a major attraction.

What’s In It?

The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue is dedicated to prominent Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is already a major hit among both domestic and international tourists. This has already registered a footfall of 27 lakh visitors. For those of you who didn’t know, the Statue of  Unity is twice the size of the iconic Statue of Liberty. It’s situated around 200 km away from Ahmedabad and is situated near the Sardar Sarovar Dam. Since its inauguration on October 31, 2018, this statue has been a major attraction for the state of Gujarat. It has been made in such a manner that it can withstand vibrations, high wind velocities and even earthquakes. There is also a museum here which is dedicated to the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel along with an audio-visual department to educate visitors.

And now visitors are going to flock not only for this prestigious statue in Gujarat but also for the upcoming zoo that will house exotic birds and animals from across the world. This zoo which is being developed here will see a mix of different animals from across the globe. It will span across an area of 1300 acres of land. Since this zoo is situated near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Statue Of Unity, it will be named as Sardar Patel Zoological Park. Visitors! You can expect to see deers, leopards, lions, tigers, bison, zebras, antelopes, giraffes and many more exotic animals. These animals will be kept in the safari park.

Well, the Statue of Unity did receive a lot of flack for being an expensive affair for the state. Many people also stated about the unnecessary expenditure by the government.
