All You Need To Know About This

The Gujarat government has placed major focus on reducing unnecessary travel as part of its fuel-saving plan. Officials have been directed to prioritise video conferencing and digital meetings over physical ones to cut down on staff travel. Foreign travel has also been discouraged, except in unavoidable situations, while participation in overseas training programmes, conferences, study tours, and seminars is to be avoided for now.

For meetings taking place in other states, districts, or centres, online participation has been encouraged wherever possible. The government also plans to review the number of official vehicles across departments, with excess vehicles set to be decommissioned.

In addition, officials have been encouraged to shift towards electric vehicles instead of petrol or diesel-run cars, while the use of private vehicles is also being discouraged. Another key directive includes ensuring that all government canteens use Piped Natural Gas (PNG).
