Here’s All About Pakistan’s New Low Cost Airline ‘Fly Jinnah’

Fly Jinnah is a new low-cost airline in Pakistan. The new airline began its operations on November 1st. Their inaugural flight flew on October 31st. The operations commenced with their first commercial flight departing from Islamabad to Karachi. The welcoming ceremony of the airline’s first aircraft witnessed a water cannon salute at the Islamabad International Airport. Recently, the airline obtained its air operator license and certificate from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

Fly Jinnah Starts Commercial Operations

Fly Jinnah is a joint venture between UAE-based Air Arabia Group (low-cost carrier) and Pakistan’s Lakson Group. The announcement of this venture took place on September 21st. The Lakson group will be the majority and controlling stakeholder while Air Arabia will be the minority stakeholder. This low-cost airline has started operations with 3 Airbus A320-200 aircraft.

The aircrafts have ‘Skytime’ which is a free in-flight streaming service. Fly Jinnah is following Air Arabia’s model where it operates only short-medium haul flights. With this, it focuses on giving its customers a very reliable service. Pakistan International Airlines, Serene Air, AirBlue and AirSial are the other Pakistani airlines apart from this new one.

Operations Across 5 Destinations

The airline will begin its operations in Pakistan’s 5 destinations. The airline will be serving domestic routes in Karachi before its international expansion. The destinations include 4 routes connecting to its base, Karachi, to Quetta, Peshawar, Lahore and Islamabad. The fares for one way begin from PKR 14,000.

Iqbal Ali Lakhani, chairman of Fly Jinnah said that they are here to offer customers a value-driven product and service. He said that they are looking forward to catering to all the needs of the market in Pakistan and also contributing to its travel and tourism sector. Adel Al Ali, Air Arabia group’s chief executive officer said that the airline’s commitment is to offer its customers an experience which is value for money.
