The drive from Hyderabad to Bengaluru along NH44 will soon get shorter with the construction of a six-lane elevated corridor and multiple vehicle underpasses on the Shamshabad route. The new corridor will be one of the longest flyovers in the city. The brand new flyover will allow vehicles to travel at a speed of 100 kmph, with crash barriers. The vehicle underpasses are also being built at the PJTSAU in Rajendra Nagar, Kattedan Chowrasta, and Satamrai village in Shamshabad Mandal.

The 238-metre long bridge will be illuminated each night with multi-coloured lights and will wear themed decors on special occasions like Independence Day, Eid and Diwali. Durgam Cheruvu Bridge In Hyderabad To Display 25 Themes According To The Occasion

The Dergum Cheruvu cable-stayed bridge is anticipated to draw a large number of tourists from all over the world due to its breathtaking view at night. It took nearly ₹180 crores to construct the bridge. The cables and pylons of the bridge will light up in versatile colours, and they will display 25 themes according to the occasion, like Dubai’s Burj Khalifa building. The bridge will have themed lighting on special occasions like Telangana Formation Day, Independence Day, Eid and Diwali. The lights of the dazzling bridge will also reflect on the lake. The Dergum Cheruvu bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge in the city.

K. T. Rama Rao, Minister of IT of Telangana had recently uploaded a video of the bridge on Twitter and it has already grabbed a huge number of likes and comments. Rao wrote on his post, “A sneak peek of the very soon to be unveiled cable-stay bridge on Durgam Cheruvu.” 

MindSpace to Jubilee Hills Distance Cut Down By 2 Kilometres

The bridge gets a good number of health freaks in the early mornings. The authorities have asked the residents of the buildings in the vicinity of the bridge to decorate their houses with colourful lights for the bridge’s inauguration, which will take place in the evening. The Durgam Cheruvu bridge will shorten the distance from MindSpace to Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad by 2 kilometres. Reportedly, the inauguration ceremony of the bridge will take place this month but the dates are not out yet.
