The Delhi Metro and public buses will operate with full seating capacity from July 26, 2021. Intrastate (within NCT of Delhi) movement of DTC and cluster buses will be allowed with full seating capacity. In both metro and buses, no standing passengers will be allowed. Passengers can board the buses only from the rear door and can deboard only from the front door. Autos and e-rickshaws can operate with up to two passengers. Taxis and cabs are allowed to operate. Maxi cab can have up to five passengers. RTV can carry up to 11 passengers.

Cinema Halls Can Operate With 50% Capacity

Cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes in Delhi can now operate with 50% capacity. Spas are also allowed to reopen, but employees have to be either fully vaccinated, or they must undergo an RT-PCR test fortnightly. The number of people allowed in marriage functions and funerals has been increased to 100. However, all the people in social occasions must comply with COVID norms, wear masks, maintain social distancing, use sanitisers, etc. If rules are violated, actions can be taken against the owners of the banquet halls, marriage halls, hotels, etc. as well as the violators. Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will continue to remain closed.

India’s First FASTag-Based Cashless Parking Facility Opens In Delhi’s Kashmere Gate

India’s first FASTag-based cashless parking facility has come up at Gate No. 6 of Delhi Metro’s Kashmere Gate station. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has collaborated with the Delhi Metro regulating body to launch the country’s first 100% digital parking plaza at the Kashmere Gate station, which is also one of the busiest metro stations in Delhi. The parking facility can cater to around 174 two-wheelers and 55 four-wheelers. Reportedly, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning to launch similar systems in some of its other parking facilities too.

How To Do Payments In This Parking Facility?

The parking facility will allow entry, exit, and payment of four-wheelers only through FASTag. The deduction of the parking fee will take place via FASTag. Two-wheelers can enter the parking facility by swiping the DMRC smart card. No money will be deducted for swiping in and out of the parking lot with the DMRC smart card. The two-wheelers can pay the parking fee via UPI by scanning the QR code. As per reports, payments can also be done using the DMRC or the national common mobility card (NCMC) at a later stage.

According to an NDTV report, Ms Praveena Rai, COO, NPCI, has stated, ”The parking plaza would accept NETC FASTag for four-wheelers and UPI payments for all two-wheelers. With NETC FASTag, it’s our constant endeavour to provide seamless, cashless, and automated toll and parking payment solutions.” This parking facility has come up a few months after Delhi got its first automated tower parking site at Green Park with a capacity of 136 cars.

Dedicated IPT Lanes For Cabs, Autos And E-Rickshaws

Dedicated Intermediate Public Transport or IPT lanes have been set up for cabs, autos and e-rickshaws at Gate numbers 6 and 8 of the Kashmere Gate station. The FASTag-enabled parking lot will make the process of entry to the parking and payment of parking fees swifter. The IPT lanes will allow the smooth movement of vehicles. In the next phase, a bus terminal with three lanes and a food court will also come up at the station.
