Despite the pandemic’s impact having subsided, worries about the transmission of illness nevertheless had a significant impact on customers’ beverage selections. Also, unpackaged juices’ quality and safety are at risk due to improper sanitation and cleaning procedures.

Indian consumers who are concerned about their health are increasingly opting for locally produced beverages like coconut water and sugarcane juice that have been packaged in a facility that follows proper sanitation practices. Indians who are concerned about their health are becoming more and more cautious of their sugar and calorie intake. Excessive sugar consumption has been related to poor health effects and can raise the risk of diabetes and obesity. To lower their risk of lifestyle diseases, Indians have demonstrated a preference for 100 per cent pure juices. Moreover, they have to be free of added sugar and preservatives.

This is also corroborated by the results of the GlobalData poll. It showed 49 per cent of Indians said they are mindful of sugar content when determining a product’s healthfulness.
